On October 31st 2018, Ivy House celebrated halloween in the best way… at the Environmental Sciences Employability event at the University of Derby.

We really enjoyed meeting current students at the university to talk to them about life after graduation, the different paths they can take and how Ivy House can potentially support them in the future.

Daniel Heywood, who joined us in July through our 10 week internship programme and has since been offered a graduate role as our Geo/Environmetal Engineer, was invited to do a speech at the event. Dan graduated this year from the University of Derby with a 2:1 and spoke to the students about his experience with internships, graduate roles and some helpful top tips for when they graduate.

After reflecting on the day Daniel said “It was surreal to be invited back but I was incredibly honoured. I was in the exact same position as the students last year so I knew they would be able to relate to me. I wanted them to know that life after university isn’t as scary as we all thought and that anything is possible.”
