Phil is the ‘safe pair of hands’ at Ivy House with almost 40 years’ experience as a Chartered Geotechnical engineer (MIMMM, FGS, PhD and CEng). Having extensive experience working in Europe, Africa and all-around Asia,

Phil is recognised as a ‘competent person’ in most aspects of ground and mining engineering. Phil’s main responsibilities at Ivy House include mentoring junior staff in areas of foundation design, coal mining assessments, earthworks, retaining walls, deep excavations and site investigation methodology.

In particular, Phil provides a major input on the assessment of potential ground stability risks resulting from the historic legacy of underground coal mining within the East Midlands.
