Richard founded Ivy House Environmental in 2007 and made the transition to full time self-employed in 2012, establishing an office at our Scotland Farm HQ.
An experienced environmental consultant and Chartered Environmental Surveyor, Richard qualified as a chartered surveyor in 2006, he has a degree in Minerals Estate Management from Sheffield Hallam University and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Analysis & Assessment from Anglia Ruskin University, qualifications which tally with the variety of professional roles he has occupied across the UK and overseas.
Specialising in the assessment and remediation of contaminated land, Richard has worked for companies and consultancies large and small in the UK and the Middle East. He has managed a myriad of development, oil, gas and infrastructure projects across Europe, the UAE, Qatar, and Oman.
A farmer’s son, Richard comes from a Leicestershire farming family and can often be found in the summer months sharing the joys of his uncles’ combined harvester with his children. Life outside Ivy House revolves around the cycling season and supporting his children’s many sporting activities.
